www- In this project i had to rebrand a logo for a company which i felt needed improvement in there logo. I chose ribena and i rebranded the logo by adding a splat and some red and purple which are the main colours of ribena. I feel that i have achieved this target and have made a good logo. The new logo i made stands out alot more and i feel that it sells the product better as it is more appealing to the eye.
Ebi- I feel that i could of put the logo on some products to show what it actually looked like and to see if i could improve it to make it look like it was actually on the product. I also feel that i could of made the logo to a better quality and made it look more perfessional because at the moment i feel that my logo needs some extra work and it needs some filters to make it look better on the actual product.
Overall i feel that i have met my targets and i have produced a good logo which would look good on a product in the future. I feel that this project has improved my photoshop and firework skills and has given me a different way of thinking about logos and how they can be improved.

Global Responsibility.
Non-renewable Reources.
traditionally, designers and manufacturers have used a range of materials form non-renewable resources. This meansthat the raw materials such as oil, ores and minerals , are taken from sources that will eventually run out. They are natural resources that have been produced over thousands of years, and so are finite resources. the production and disposal of products made from these matrials can also have a negative impact on the envoirnment, producing emissons and waste that cannot be broken down.
Renewable Sources.
if we are to make our natural resources last longer, we must aim to use a greater quanity of renewable resources in our products. This will both help to protect our enviornment and will also help o safegaurd the supply of products and services. For example, many timber products now carry the FSG (Forset stewardship concil) logo, which reassures the customer that the timber supply is from renewable, managed forests. using such logo allows the customer to make informed chocies.
The six Rs
Reduce- Reducing the amount of raw materials we use will improve sustainabilty.
Refuse- Refusing to accept extra packaging can make a difference,as can refusing to accept that the easiest way of disposing of products is always the best way.
Re-use - Reusing products is important because they require very little processing, and there for have less impact upon the enviornmet than products from raw materials.
Repair - Think about wether it is always a good idea to buy a whole new product.
Recycle- Many products can be recylced, and recycling symbols on products and packaging inform the consumer how to dispose of them and how they should be processed.
Rethink- Perhaps it is time for a radical reapprasial of the way we buy and dispose of products.
Product lifecycle
Carbon footprints-
everything we produce, buy and use has a carbon footprint: a total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) or other green house gases emitted during the products life time, including its production, use and disposal. Carbon footprints can have a serious impact on climate change and manafactures should make every effort to minimise these effects.
Fair trade-
The fairtrade foundation, based in the Uk, was set up to help alleviate poverty among farmers and workers in aresa of the world where previously they had not received a fair price for the oods they produced.

The stages of my logo, original logo
I then created this in fireworks and added this puple splat, and added some read to the sides of the splat. I feel this gave it a bit of extra eye apeal and i think that it makes the logo stand out alot more on the shelf. So over all i think i have succeded in rebranding the logo and making it stand out, i have achieved my target.

Design Situation and Design Brief
Design Situation
Advertising is a multimillion pound industry. Advertising includes logos, packaging, point of sale displays, websites and television campaigns. International companies from Ford to McDonalds spend millions of pounds each year on advertising. Even smaller companies spend large amounts of their budget on good advertising campaigns.
Design Brief
I am going to redesign the logo for ribena. I will also design and make a piece of packaging for one of their products (drink cartoon or bottle) and design and make a point of sale display for that product.
Initial Specification
My products will have or do the following;
• Display the product that is for sale
• be more enviormentaly friendly
• sell the product better
• be more appeling to the eye
• Have more drink but in a better shaped carton for a easyer fit
•And just gernerally make the product better

My company logo redesign.
I have decided to create a better logo for ribena as i feel that it is quite a boring old fashioned logo and could do with a more up to date logo that will stand out on the shelf.
the drink was launched in 1936 , due to the fact that in the second world war fruits like oranges were very hard to obtain from places like Florida and so on. so ribena decided to make a blackcurrant fruit drink. Almost the entire British blackcurrant crop was made into blackcurrant syrup (or cordial). almost all of it manufactured by Carters, and distributed to the nation's children for free without the Ribena brand name, giving rise to the lasting popularity of blackcurrant flavourings in Britain. Ribena is sold as a juice drink (cordial) and a predilluted drink. It is now in a variety of flavours like raspberry and pomegranate, strawberry, blackcurrant and cranberry, orange, and apple.
ribena has a very clear colour scheme of red and purple i think these colours are very important and it makes it stand out to the eye but i think that the logo doesn't fit with this colour scheme.
